The light on the trail is never consistent. A single run means quickly shifting from dark woods into an open, sun-blasted clearing, then diving back into the shadows.
For years, the "solution" was to compromise. You either rode with a dark lens that was too slow for the woods, or a clear lens that was blinding in the open. You were always in the wrong gear.
The real solution is a single goggle that does the work for you. A lens that can be clear in the forest and dark in the sun, adapting in real-time.
The Nitty-Gritty: How Our Lens System Works
We built our goggle system around a high-performance adaptive lens. The technology is rapid and precise. When exposed to UV light, the lens darkens from a Category 0 clear lens (at 85% VLT) down to a Category 3 dark tint (at 15% VLT).
This is a massive functional range, but for a rider, speed is what matters.
- Activation (Darkening): The lens activates to 80% of its full tint in under 30 seconds of direct UV exposure.
- Deactivation (Fading): This is the most critical spec. Our lens is optimized to fade 50% (from dark to mid-tint) in approximately 60 seconds, so you are never blind when you dive back into a dark forest.
But the real-world performance isn't just about these extreme shifts. Because you're moving fast and wearing a full-face helmet with a visor, the lens rarely reaches its absolute darkest tint. Instead, it "hovers" in a functional mid-range, constantly adjusting to cut glare and reduce eye strain. It’s a smooth, continuous transition that lets you stay focused on the trail, not on your gear.
The Soprism Goggle System
A great lens is useless if the goggle fails. We built a frame to match the lens's performance.
- Frame Construction: The frame is built from a flexible TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane). It’s durable, holds its shape, and conforms to your face for a gap-free fit, even in the cold.
- Lens: The adaptive lens is a dual-layer 0.8mm construction for high impact resistance. It's treated with anti-fog and anti-scratch coatings and provides 100% UVA/UVB protection.
- Fit: We use a triple-layer, moisture-wicking foam to pull sweat away from your skin. This works with our enhanced ventilation to reduce fogging on big climbs.
- Details: A wide, 45mm silicone-backed strap stays locked in place, and a removable nose guard offers extra protection from sun and gravel.
We also include a bonus Category 0 clear lens for pure night riding. But with an adaptive lens this responsive, you'll rarely need it. This isn't a convenience. It's a performance tool.
